Weymouth, Dorset
Weymouth is yet another family friendly beach resort and it attracts many visitors each year for a wide variety of different reasons. The beaches at Weymouth are often rated in the top 10 UK beaches and the Jurassic coastline really does make these Weymouth beaches just that little bit different to the rest.
There is a wide range of facilities all along the three miles of beaches and there are kiosks which sell food and drink along with an ample amount of toilet facilities. The beaches in Weymouth are a great place for visitors, young and old, to idly spend the days relaxing in the sun but there is also a range of sports which are available such a beach volleyball etc.
Just alongside the beach there is the famous 17th century harbour which is absolutely stunning and many people visit Weymouth just to experience this are. There is also a wide range of water sports available with Weymouth being a renowned water sports centre to such an extent that it has been chosen to host the sailing and windsurfing events for the 2012 Olympic games.
Running alongside the beach is Weymouth’s famous Georgian promenade. This is reminiscent of the typical English seaside town and to that end there is everything that you would expect to find there, from ice cream parlours to amusement arcades.
Weymouth really does have so much to offer with the Jurassic coastline and world class water sports facilities setting it apart from many other of the competing seaside resorts in the UK. As already mentioned, the quality of the beaches in terms of their natural beauty and how they are looked after with regards to being cleaned on a daily basis makes Weymouth a first choice holiday destination for a wide range of people from all over the UK and Europe.
