St Barts

Summer is fast approaching and I am here to share with you some of the beautiful beaches I have been for the past five years. Just May of last year, my family went to St. Barts – a small, rocky island of volcanic origin perfectly located just below the Tropic of Cancer. We reached the island through Juliana Airport in nearby Dutch St Maarten. Here, flights arrive daily from both the Europe and USA.

St. Barts is rich in beautiful beaches with shining white sand. All of these beaches are open to the public and are lined with amazing white sand. It is also one of the Caribbean’s most famous destinations for nude sunbathing and topless. So be ready to see it all even if you are not prepared to show it all!

The only major beach located in its town is the Shell Beach. Here, the water is very calm and a perfect relief after a long hard day. You can do cliff-diving then indulge yourself with the delicious foods at Do Brazil Restaurant at reasonable price. The calmest water can be found on its Grand Cul de Sac Beach. It is protected by coral reef making it popular for the families and just perfect for windsurfing, kite boarding and sail boating. St Jean Beach is the most popular white sand beach with the most convenient location and abundance of beachfront hotels, restaurants and activities.

At St. Barts, there are many international cuisines to choose from. It includes French, West Indian, Creole, Italian and Asian cuisine. Located directly on the beach, The Sand Bar offers delicious foods and is open for breakfast and lunch. Adjacent to it is the The Sand Bar that serves drinks and offers newspapers for its guests. On The Rocks which is literally perched “on the rock” is open during dinner. It features a look-see kitchen, three levels of dining, a bar and spectacular views over St. Jean Bay.

Unlike other beaches, St. Barts does not have active and glittering night life. There are no real movie houses except on many Saturday where local folks assemble at the A.J.O.E. tennis court in Lorient to watch a recent movie. Le Select in Gustavia is the favourite hangout of the sailors and locals who are gathered most evenings for tall stories and beer. Still, the most popular night time experience in the island remains to be the comfortable and leisurely dining.

St. Barts offer a tremendous choice of accommodation for your vacation, from fabulous waterfront locations to secluded hillsides. You can choose from the private villas to share with family or friends; the comfort and charm of traditional cottages or a selection of outstanding hotels where luxury and elegance are the essence. Le Bois de l’Angelique is a comfortable bungalow perched upon the hilltop ridge in Colombier and is one of the cottages that offer a breathtaking view of the Atlantic and the Caribbean.

So, if you are planning your dream vacation for your whole family, be at St. Barts where relaxation and great experience are always at its best!
