Nungwi Beach is perfectly situated in the northern coast of Zanzibar, approximately 40 miles away from the town. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy all the extraordinary experience the world has to offer.
The island of Zanzibar is the jewel of the east-African coast. It is known for its spice trade, labyrinthine old Stone Town and, of course, around 30 beautiful and stunning beaches where Nungwi Beach is the best.
Zanzibar Island offers great accommodation. The hotels make use of ancient local building traditions to create a contemporary architectural space from its natural materials. It has a charming thatched chalets or lodge rooms, each with a private balcony and en-suite facilities.
Located at the northernmost peninsula of Zanzibar Island, is the Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel. Hidden among the rich tropical gardens, its cluster of whitewashed and palm thatched cottages overlook the calming and shimmering waters of Indian Ocean. Its Myriad pathways are shaded by elegant palms and create a soft sun-dappled walkway between the beach, banda, balcony and bar.
One of the most thrilling experience I ever had at Nungwi Beach are diving and snorkelling around the magnificent coral reefs which serve as home for flourishing populations of dolphin, turtles and numerous marine species. During low tide, the reef creates a stunningly clear lagoon with beautiful white coral sand bars crowded with a wide variety of marine life. Other water sports such as water skiing, wind surfing, traditional sailing dhow cruises and kayaking are also enjoyable at nungwi beach Zanzibur.
Fine dining at Nungwi beach is a great experience, too. I am very much delighted with their services and courteous chefs and friendly staffs. They prepare elegant and mouth-watering menus from an abundance of their local ingredients, including aromatic spice, the finest variety of seafood and plenty of fresh tropical fruits. They have plenty of wine to offer featuring the quality French champagne and their award winning South African wines.
Set in tropical gardens, you will find Peponii Spa which offers several choices on rejuvenating, pampering and holistic treatments to calm your mind, body and soul. Peaceful music and the subtle aroma of African essential oils also add to a different spa experience.
The best time to plan your trip at Nungwi Beach is between the months of July and October. The weather is hot and the beach is perfect for swimming and relaxation, thus making your stay Zanzibar more enjoyable and unforgettable.
