Newquay appeals to a wide range of people but the main attractions are the beaches and the nightlife. The beaches in Newquay are famous for the surfing and it is the number one surfing destination in the UK.

The surf is so good that it actually attracts surfers from around the world and it is not unusual to hear Australian accents on the famous Fistral beach in Newquay as professional and amateur surfers practice side by side.

There are many different beach activities available for anyone to try and the surf shops which are scattered around the resort are able to get anyone set up in the beach sport of their choice.

As night draws in, Newquay starts to come alive with its nightlife. This aspect has received a little bad press over the past couple of years due to the all night partying that often goes on but for many, this is just another one of the main attractions of Newquay.

Organised beach parties are a regular occurrence and and it is not unusual to be eating your breakfast at one of the many cafés in the town and find yourself sitting with party goers who have yet to go to bed.

Some people get the false impression that Newquay is aimed at people who just want to surf and party but nothing could really be further from the truth. It is also a family resort and due to the amazing waves which crash upon the beach, it is easy for a few hours to go by in a flash whilst the whole family are enjoying a day spent belly boarding which really is enormous fun.

A holiday in Newquay is a beach holiday in every sense of the word and the brilliant climate in this part of Cornwall will mean that it is rare for bad weather to make a day on the beach not possible.
