Mauritius is an island nation off the southern coast of Africa in the southwest Indian Ocean. The climate here is tropical with hot, wet and humid summer from the month of November to May. Perhaps, the biggest asset of Mauritius is the charm of its warm and welcoming people.
Mauritius is an enchanting, world-in-one-island slice of paradise-on-earth with its cobalt-blue seas, white sandy beaches and luxury hotels. I was not able to imagine how wonderful and exciting to stay at this place because there were no dull moments at Mauritius. The island is rich with historic scenery, cultural diversity and almost unlimited activities besides the ordinary swimming and sunbathing that any beach could offer.
Mauritius provides the best accommodation ranging from inexpensive bed and breakfasts to luxury hotels and villas. There are also several very high class hotels and resorts on the island, including the excellent Le Prince Maurice and the Beachcomber hotels like The Royal Palm. While small and cosy hotels are numerous along the coastline with affordable prices and good accommodation.
There are many places you can wish to visit at Mauritius. At the East of Mauritius, you will find the Waterpark Leisure Village and enjoy the unforgettable moments sliding on the giant chutes with your whole family and friends while if you want to discover the large variety of tropical fruit trees and perfumed exotic flowers, you can visit the Labourdonnais Orchards. There are also popular public beaches such as Pereybere and is considered as one of the finest bathing spots on the island.
One of the most exciting things to do at Mauritius is to explore the ocean beds through the Blue Safari submarine. You will really enjoy the ultimate encounter with the beautiful marine life and get a chance to view the various wrecks way back 17th century. Mauritius is also great for deep sea fishing and catching different species such as blue and black marlin, yellow tuna, the emperor and a lot more. It is where the most prestigious deep sea fishing competition, the Marlin World Cup, is being held.
The foods are great, too. You can choose from different restaurants such as La Bonne Marmite at Port Louis, the Black Becker at Caudan Waterfront, Le Cafe du Vieux Conseil and Carri Poule that offers deliciously and luscious international cuisines.
